  Literacy Volunteers of Morris County

The Mission of the Interfaith Food Pantry is threefold:

  • to improve the health and well being of eligible Morris County residents in need by providing access to food, nutrition education and related resources.

  • to provide hands-on opportunities for neighbors to help neighbors

  • to raise awareness and understanding about the issues of hunger right here in our community.

IFP helps families meet their monthly food needs.

One client commented: “The food pantry helps my family eat better and I can use the money I save for other things such as paying bills.”

Our IFP Nutritionist provides healthy menu/recipe options for our clients.

Recently a client said: "I enjoy the food demonstrations, you teach us about different, healthy foods and how to prepare them for our families.  It is good since you have the foods available at the pantry too.”

One out of five adults in New Jersey has difficulty reading, writing or communicating in English. For over 25 years, LVMC has been providing FREE tutoring to adults in Morris County who need to improve their literacy skills so that they can make the most out of their lives.

Literacy Volunteers of Morris County, believes that the ability to read and write and to comprehend and speak English is critical to personal freedom and the maintenance of a democratic society. The Mission of LVMC, Morris County, is to promote increased literacy and fluency in English for adult learners in this area through the effective use of volunteers, the provisions of support services for volunteers and learners, and through collaboration with individuals, groups and any organization desirous of fostering increased literacy.
